The New Storm IQ Tour Pearl gave us a little shorter length through the heads than we would have expected out of this kinda of bowling ball. In addition to a shorter and stronger transition to hook in the mid-lane… It also gave us a strong angular back-end motion… This ball had a very, very hard hit at the pocket and seemed to work best on medium heavy lane conditions with drier back-ends.. This was a very good bowling ball oilier or longer patterns… The ball will need some oil to perform as designed…
When considering a ball for heavier oil, you need to look for strong coverstocks and weight blocks, or cores, that are ready to cut through oil and help you get not only to the pocket but through the pins. The new IQ is that ball!
Storm Fire Road
The New Storm Fire Road gave us a longer slide through the head along with a smoother transition to hook in the mid-lane than we expected. In addition it gave us a smooth and strong controlled back end motion… This ball had good pin carry and will need some dry boards for the best reaction on medium to medium heavy oil patterns… We found this to be a very good upper mid-line bowling ball…
Looking at the core, we’ll power the Fire Road with the proven Inverted Fe3 Technology weight block first introduced in the Victory Road. This particular shape is extremely driller and bowler friendly; you would be hard pressed to find anyone who does not like the look and the hook of this shape! The advancements made in Fe3 allowed us to utilize a larger mass to increase the dynamics, upping the differential approximately 15%.
