DV8 Grudge Pearl: Bowling Ball Review
The Grudge Pearl complements the original Grudge, by giving a bowler more length down the lane with the continuous roll that is known for the Grudge line. Like my original Grudge, the Grudge Pearl is drilled pin up between my bridge. The result is an exceptionally smooth rolling ball through the heads with tremendous amount of roll and hook at the pin deck. The ball motion is very clean through the front part of the lanes, while maintaining a tremendous amount of hitting power. This ball maintains its motion at the break point and through the pins, with incredible predictability….

Description: The DV8 Grudge Pearl bowling ball features the beloved Grudge Low RG Asymmetric core which was included in the Grudge and Grudge Hybrid. This is the strongest core ever from DV8 and will provide maximum flare and hook.

The new part of the equation is the Composite Hook Pearl, finished at 500 Siaair/Crown Factory Compound. This shiny pearl coverstock with composite technology will create the strongest, most angular pearl in DV8 history.

DV8 Vandal Smash: Bowling Ball Review: We drilled ours 55x4x45 and left it box finish. This ball is comparable to the original Vandal but, it is cleaner down lane and makes a very powerful angular motion into the pocket. The DV8 Vandal Smash is great for heavy to medium oil conditions. This is a great benchmark bowling ball, so if you want to play in or out on the lane this ball provides you with all angles to the pocket…

Description: The DV8 Vandal Smash bowling ball uses the Vandal Asymmetric Core made famous in the original DV8 Vandal. The high differential creates maximum flare for a strong roll that reads all parts of the lane. The Composite Solid coverstock, finished at 500/4000 Grit Siaair, gets through the heads cleanly, owns the midlane and finishes with an extremely strong but controllable backend reaction.

DV8 Vandal Smash: Bowling Ball Review

Review of the DV8 Thug Bowling Ball

The DV8 Thug gave us a longer skid through the heads with a shorter transition in the mid-lane. In addition, to a longer and smoother back-end motion… This ball had more of an L shape ball motion and also had some fade back type entry angle to the pocket. The DV8 Thug did have good pin carry and was very controllable and it was like using a smoother ball that got down the lane and had a set up reaction to it. It seem to work good on medium to heavier oil volumes… We used 55 x 5 x 35 dual angle drilling layout, and the out of box surface finish, and bowled on a 39ft house pattern in testing this ball…

The Thug features the new Class 13F Hybrid Reactive coverstock and the new Medium RG Thug Asymmetric core. The Thug gives bowlers easy length and lots of punch on the backend. This skid/flip reaction will increase pin carry and allow you to play inside angles with ease. The Thug has one of the best looking color combinations ever seen in a bowling ball. The Black/Orange/Silver Pearl – Hybrid really stands out when rolling down the lane and allows bowlers to easily see the rotation on the ball. This makes adjustments easier and will allow for higher scores.

Here’s what DV8 has to say about the ball:

Featuring the new Class 13F Hybrid Reactive coverstock wrapped around the Thug core, the Thug skids easily through the front and mid-lane flipping on the backend for the most breakpoint potential of any DV8 ever on medium to oily lane conditions.

Finished with a Rough Buff Finish, the Brutal Nightmare skids easily through the front and mid-lane with an extremely quick response to friction on the backend creating a highly continuous motion that pummels the pins. DV8 Marauder Madness gave us a shorter skid through the the heads with a shorter transition to hook in the mid-lane along with a longer and smoother back-end motion that was angular… This ball had good continuation and was very controllable… In addition it seems to work the best on medium to heavy oil volumes… A very very smooth bowling ball… We did roll more solid strikes with this ball than the mixers… It basically had a strong but smooth motion…

The blue/neon yellow solid Marauder Madness adds more power to the DV8 product line at a modest price. The new Marauder Madness is clean through the front and digs in the mid-lane to create a strong and continuous motion on a variety of lane conditions. DV8 Nightmare

DV8 Nightmare gave us very smooth and even transitions in all 3 of the zones from the heads to the back-end… In addition, the ball had a lot of high revving action down lane which gave us a lot of mixing type pin carry… We did get some hook and set type reaction with this bowling ball. It basically had a strong but smooth motion and seemed to work well on medium to heavy oil patterns…

The black/purple/lime solid DV8 Nightmare sets a new standard in aggressive hook motion for the DV8 product line as a result of the new asymmetric Nightmare core design matched with the new Class 8 reactive coverstock. The DV8 Nightmare will provide stronger hook motion in oil and an extremely quick response to friction on the backend that cuts through the pins on medium to heavy oil. The Nightmare is now the most aggressive ball in the DV8 product line.
